Oral ulcer(canker sore) is quite common and they are generally harmless in most of the cases. I suggest you to consult a general practitioner and get the following things done:- (1)- Do a complete blood count to rule out anemia. Anemia is acommon cause for oral ulcers and in that case she needs iron and folic acid supplements. (2)- Vitamin deficiency is the other common cause for oral ulcers, vitaminB complex can be tried for two weeks. Also try to include more fruits and vegetables in her diet, (3)- Stress and anxiety can precipitate oral ulcers,so ttry to avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. (4)-Use chlorhexidine mouthwash or lignocaine containing mouthwash which might help to reduce the pain. (5)- You can also try oral steroid creams containing triamcinolone which is very effective to heal mouth ulcers. Most of the cases heal with these conservative measures.
